Meet our Team

Elaine

Owner/Director - 2002

Together with her late husband Colin, Elaine purchased The Court in 2002. The home immediately captured their hearts, and their decision to buy it was driven by passion and lifestyle rather than financial motivation. Sadly, Colin passed away in 2019, but his influence and values continue to be reflected in the home they created together.

Elaine continues to live on the grounds, with her cottage conveniently located next to the care home, allowing her to remain closely connected to daily life at The Court. Over the years, her family has also been involved in the home, with younger generations growing up around it and often seen visiting and spending time with residents.

While Elaine’s day-to-day involvement has reduced, the home continues to be supported by a dedicated and experienced management team and staff who uphold the high standards of care The Court is known for, ensuring continuity, warmth, and quality in everything provided.

Kara

Registered Manager & Nominated Individual - 2023

Kara joined The Court team in June 2023 as Registered Manager, bringing over 20 years of experience in social care across a variety of settings. She is also now the Nominated Individual for the service, meaning she holds overall responsibility for supervising the management of the regulated activity and ensuring that the home is run safely, effectively, and in full compliance with CQC requirements and wider legislation.

As Registered Manager, she is responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that all staff adhere to policies and procedures relating to health and safety, training, and compliance. She also works closely with a range of external professionals to ensure that care and support is delivered in a truly holistic and person-centred way.

‘Being part of The Court team is a genuine privilege, with a shared commitment across staff to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a warm and homely environment where residents are always placed at the centre of everything we do’

Gary

Deputy Manager - 2023

Gary became part of The Court team in early 2023, initially joining as a Senior Care Assistant. Through his dedication and strong leadership skills, he progressed to the role of Team Leader, where he continued to carry out senior care duties while also supervising staff, supporting best practice, and ensuring compliance with regulations and high standards of care.

Towards the end of 2025, he was promoted to Deputy Manager. In this role, he supports the day-to-day running of the home, oversees staff practice and compliance, and helps to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care.

His responsibilities also include overseeing medication management, coordinating compliance audits, and contributing to a range of operational duties that support the smooth running of the service.

Sarah

Administration and finance Manager - 2022

Sarah joined the family business in 2022, which has been proudly owned and managed by her parents since 2002.

In her role, she oversees the facilities team, which includes activities, events, housekeeping, kitchen services, and maintenance, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of these essential areas. She is also responsible for the financial administration of the home, including staff payroll, budgeting, and resident invoicing.

She works closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to support the overall management of the service and ensure high standards are consistently maintained across all areas.

‘It has been a privilege  to witness the continued growth and development of The Court into the welcoming and well-established home it is today’

Nikki
